The Grand Bazaar

One of the oldest and largest covered markets in the world, the Grand Bazaar is a labyrinth of more than four thousand shops selling carpets, gold, ceramics, lamps, and leather. Basilica Cistern

Beneath the streets of the old city lies a vast, cathedral-like Byzantine cistern, its forest of three hundred columns rising from dark water and lit to dramatic effect.
